Demonstrator benefits

There are many benefits to becoming a demonstrator!
(to find out more about signing up, please click here)

It's hard to know where to start, so let’s begin with the material benefits:

Starter Kit
This is a bargain! It costs just £99 but is worth up to £175. It's completely customisable; you can now choose catalogue products to the value of £130 and you get a business supplies pack worth £45 on top of that.  And if you drop at any time (ie, stop being a demonstrator), you get to keep the kit. It’s a no-catch purchase!

Instant Income
Also known colloquially as your demonstrator discount, this is the discount you receive on all products. You get 20% off the pre-VAT price of all catalogue products, all the time. At current VAT rates, this works out at about 17% - so if a customer spends £100, you keep £17. If you buy £100 of products, it will only cost you £83.

Extra discount within first 45 days
Once you sign up, your first qualifying order (over £150) placed within the first 45 days will earn you an extra 10% discount.

Hostess benefits
Yes, demonstrators get hostess benefits, too! Host a party yourself and you get the benefits. Even if there has been no party but you have a few orders from different friends, you can put them through as a workshop with you as the hostess. And if you are spending £150 or more on catalogue products yourself, you will also receive hostess benefits. You can use these Hostess Pounds to build up your supplies, stock up on essentials, or simply treat yourself!

Stampin’ Start
This programme is designed to help you, as a new demonstrator, build a solid foundation for your business. There are several parts to this programme:

  1. If you sell £225 (pre-VAT) in each of your first three months, you’ll earn two free stamp sets of your choice.
  2. Sell £225 (pre-VAT) in month four, five and six and you will also receive two free stamp sets.
  3. If you recruit during your first six months, you’ll earn a free stamp set for each recruit.
  4. If you meet both sales goals (outlined in 1. and 2.) and recruit at least one person in your first six months, you will receive a £40 product bonus.
  5. If you promote to Bronze 3 (one recruit and £2,700 in sales) during your first six months, you’ll receive a £119 cash bonus!

Volume Rebates
Sell more than £200 (pre-VAT) in any given month and you’ll earn extra commission on all of that month’s sales. This starts at an extra 4% for selling between £200 and £399.99 and rises, the more you sell.

Downline Overrides
If you recruit, these are the commissions you get on your downline’s sales, if you sell a qualifying amount (£225). This starts at 2% if you are a Bronze 1 demonstrator and rises as you promote through the ranks.

Recognition
Earn promotions through selling and recruiting and you will be rewarded by Stampin’ Up! You start as a Bronze 1 demonstrator – when you promote to Bronze 2 (achieve £750 in sales within a 12-month period), you receive a certificate and a badge.  Get to Bronze 3 (through sales and by recruiting just one person) and you’ll not only get Downline Overrides (see above) but have the opportunity to purchase a sneak peek bundle of products at an additional 20% discount with every new catalogue. Get to Silver 2 and this bundle will be sent to you free of charge – yes, with every new catalogue! Promote to Silver 3 and get a £185 cash bonus.

What about the other benefits?

Flexibility
You choose your hours, take holidays when you like, work from home and progress up the career ladder at your own pace... or stay happily where you are. There's no pressure to promote or recruit - but the benefits are there (see above) if you choose to take that route.

Sneak peeks!
We demonstrators get to see products at least a month before they go public - and we get to purchase some of them early, too!

Product rewards
It doesn't end with the hostess benefits - there are incentives and rewards at various points of the Stampin' Up!® year. Following a recent book-a-thon challenge, I received two packs of brads, a pack of buttons and three stamp sets from the new Mini catalogue.

Events
Stampin’ Up!® training events are only open to demonstrators. They are always exciting, inspiring and fun – and often include sneak peeks and free goodies.  The biggest event of the year is the annual Convention, which in 2012 will be in Mainz, Germany. Click here to read comments on last year’s Convention at Disneyland Paris.

Inspiration
You will get new ideas from Impressions, Stampin’ Up!® monthly newsletter for demonstrators, from Stampin’ Connection, which is an exclusive SU forum for demonstrators, and from swaps at events. Other demonstrators are a constant source of inspiration!

Friendship
The priceless and most unexpected benefit of joining Stampin' Up! is the friendship you'll find. You'll meet like-minded, friendly crafters who are all happy to help each other, not only with the business but with "real-life" problems, too. You’ll find these friendships both within your customer base and within our friendly team.
